The funds will be used to develop and implement education and awareness programmes among indigenous women and girls on climate change, adapted to the cultural context. This includes translating materials into indigenous languages and holding workshops. In addition, leadership training programmes for indigenous women are being carried out, focusing on leadership, decision-making and negotiation skills, with the goal of training at least 100 indigenous women as climate leaders in their communities.

The project will also provide institutional support and resources for indigenous women who want to become climate leaders, including legal assistance, logistical support and material resources.  This action is funded by the NEID Women and Girls Driving Climate Change Solutions 2024 Giving Circle, through Myriad USA
