The ‘Honanekakwa’ nursery, set up in September 2023 through the O ARBORESCER University Extension project, is an initiative devised by professors and students from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) Sinop Campus, with the collaboration of researchers from various institutions. 🌍
The project aims to raise environmental awareness about biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. The nursery produces seedlings of buritis (Mauritia flexuosa) and açaí (Euterpe precatoria), which are already being planted. 🌴🌱
For the Enawenê-Nawê people, these trees are essential for maintaining their culture and sacred rituals. 🌿✨
The project has the support of FUNAI, reinforcing the importance of environmental and cultural preservation. 🌍💚
