ATELIER OF DIGNITY

Through the "Menstrual Dignity" project, we created the "Ateliê da Dignidade", a permanent physical space for workshops and training, especially dedicated to serving indigenous and riverside women in the Amazon region.

We carry out planned workshops, in which the women and young people involved have the opportunity to improve their cutting and sewing skills, allowing them to make their own clothes, and produce ecological bags.

These bags, made from raw cotton and decorated by hand with natural pigments, reflect our commitment to sustainability and the appreciation of traditional craft practices.

The pieces produced are distributed free of charge among workshop participants, aiming not only at women's autonomy in relation to their clothing and accessories, but also at strengthening their cultural identities. In addition, a portion of the pieces made are intended for sale, resulting in a source of income that plays a fundamental role in the ongoing financial support of the "Atelier of Dignity" itself.

Through this initiative, we are actively contributing to the promotion of gender equality within indigenous communities, recognizing the fundamental importance of women as agents of social transformation. Our work not only empowers these women with practical and creative skills, but also lays a solid foundation for the sustainable growth and prosperity of local Amazonian communities.
